About Trevor

In the Beginning:

Born in Mankota, Saskatchewan Canada to a rodeo, ranching family, Trevor grew up with the stories of his father’s rodeo and bull riding career. He began his own career at an early age, riding rough stock and roping, when not at home helping run the vast family ranch.

Trevor began with the PBR the same year it was conceived and retired from riding bulls in 2000. He began raising bucking stock in 1989 and credits the genetics of his bulls back to the first set of bulls raised from the Burton Bloodlines and Larson cows. He supplied bulls to both professional and amateur rodeos.

The Growing Years:

The Burton ranch from Claresholm, Alberta Canada was one of the earliest bucking bull breeders in the country of Canada. Burton bulls are the base cornerstone for many Canadian breeders and stock contractors. Harry Vold may have been one of the first stock contractors to be affiliated with the
Burton Ranch during the 60’s. There have been many bulls from the Burton Breeding program
go on to NFR, CFR and PBR finals. Burton bulls are the base of the Walker breeding program.

In 2000, he watched the success of his breeding program begin with the sale of Walker raised bulls to contractors such as Corey & Horst, Big Stone Rodeo and Flying 5/Big Bend Rodeo.
In 2002, Trevor moved a portion of the breeding program to Texas, and Walker Bucking Stock Breeders was born. That same year, Trevor partnered with John Pinkerton and they took their first set of bulls on the road with the PBR tour.

Where we're going:

After many miles, a little luck and lots of hard work, Walker Bucking Stock Breeders was awarded the 2004 ABBI Breeder Of The Year Award. The honor proved that not only would the Walker bloodlines stand up at the PBR level, but they were also competitive on the aged event scene. Bulls from the Walker program can be traced back to numerous PBR Finals. In 2006, 8 bulls from the Walker program made their way to Las Vegas. Our program is not based solely on ability, but longevity as well. Bulls like #099 Smiley and #096 Evil Forces have both been to the PBR Finals 4 times and they are still going strong.

Trevor Walker was born in Mankota Saskatchewan to a ranching and rodeo family. His father supplied bucking horses to many of the amateur stock contractors around Southwestern Saskatchewan. Following in the footsteps of a family tradition, he got his first taste of riding bucking stock at the age of 13. He carried his riding career through the late 80’s and all of the 90’s. During that period, Trevor captured multiple titles in the three rough stock events and team roping. He experienced the thrill of competing at the PBR World Finals as well as four Canadian Professional Rodeo Finals.

Trevor’s passion always revolved around bucking stock. He introduced a bucking bull breeding program to the family ranch in 1990, and eventually followed with bucking horses. In 2000, he retired from riding and fell into raising bulls at the PBR level. He was part of a group of bucking bull breeders that founded the ABBI, which was the bull division of the Rough Stock Registry started by Bob Tollman. The ABBI has grown from a small time passion to a very lucrative business over the years and today, many of the top bull athletes and siblings are worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. This value has been created from proven bloodlines through DNA and performance records resulting from PBR and ABBI events.
